Public Transportation - Aceh

Any of you may have a plan to travel out around the world. Many destination could be mapped in front of you, as many landscape, panorama, cultures, are in selection. And who knows, you've pinned Aceh in your map plan, and willing to go long way down. However, taking a snap about the transportation in this area is an advance for you for your good travel.
This new post is concern on public transportation in Aceh, especially Banda Aceh.

Airport

The airport name is Bandara Sultan Iskandar Muda (SIM), which is now available for international flight from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Banda Aceh via Air Asia (adjust your rate). National flight within Indonesia is also available for more than 5 flights in a day such as Garuda Indonesia, Lion air, Sriwijaya Air, Batavia air and etc.







Bus

This is another option in order to travel to Banda Aceh. The bus serves trip from Banda Aceh to Medan, North Sumatra. And so, if you arrived in Medan, various firms are waiting in the terminal, you ma choose Pelangi, Kurnia, Anugerah, Pusaka, PMTOH, and etc.

Fair ticket from Medan to Banda Aceh range from Rp, 120.000 - 200.000, depends on your bus selection. (AC, Seat 2-2, Seat 2-1, business class, or executive class)

MINI BUS L300

Minibus L300 also public transportation that serves you from Banda Aceh to Medan and also other districts in Aceh, such as West Aceh-Meulaboh, Middle Aceh-Takengon, Singkil, and etc. This minibus charges you the same fee with bus, but anyway, it also depend on your destination. Common tickets range from 50.000 to 200.000 rupiah.


Labi-Labi

Labi-labi is like a mini bus which serve the trip in town to the villages around. This public transportation is the cheapest charge around the city, but not all destinations are reached by Labi-labi. Each labi-labi has different rute and similarly known with the number. For example, 02 is the code trip from terminal to Darussalam, 04 is the code trip from terminal to Ajun, and so on.


Becak or Tricycle

Becak is your option if you want to go around the city with any destination. You are free to negotiate the charge according to your destination. commonly range from Rp 10.000 to Rp 50.000 Be smart to negoatiate! ^_^

Express Bahari

This is the public transportation when you want to arrive in Sabang from Banda Aceh. It will take about 45 minutes from the port Ulee Lheu to port Balohan Sabang. Ticket is about Rp 60.000,- or more (business class or Executive class). The fery goes twice every day (09.00 am and 03.00 pm)


KMP BRR

This is also public transportation from Banda Aceh to Sabang. The fery is bigger than Express Bahari and goes about 1 hour and 45 minutes from Port Ulee Lheu to Port Balohan sabang. Tickets range from Rp 21.000 - 50.000 (economi class to executive class) and goes twice in Sat, Sun, and Wed (10.00 am and 02.00 pm) and once in other days (10.00 am)
